Compare UK Online Casinos
Independent, UK-focused coverage of casino licensing, bonus terms, withdrawal times and payment methods — written for British players and free of hype. 18+
Our UK rankings are not published yet
SpinRadar does not currently list or recommend any casino operator to UK players. We are working through licence verification, payment coverage, withdrawal terms and bonus documentation for every site we intend to cover, and nothing will be ranked until those checks are finished and recorded.
You will see preview layouts in some sections of the site. Those entries are clearly labelled, carry no bonus, payment, licensing or rating information, and their buttons are disabled. They exist so the comparison tables can be built and tested, not to suggest that any operator has been assessed. Until our first reviews are published, treat this site as an educational resource about the UK market rather than a shortlist.

Comparison categories
Different players want very different things from an online casino. Somebody who deposits once a month and plays a handful of slots cares about game range and bonus fairness. Somebody who plays live tables weekly cares far more about withdrawal speed, table limits and how quickly support answers a question at eleven at night. Rather than publishing a single list and calling it definitive, SpinRadar is organised around the comparisons UK players actually search for.
Each category below will use the same underlying assessment, with the weighting adjusted to suit the question being asked. A fast withdrawal comparison, for instance, gives far more weight to documented payout windows and verification practice than to the size of a welcome offer.

In preparationHow SpinRadar evaluates casinos
Our assessment is deliberately unglamorous. We start from the paperwork — who holds the licence, what the terms and conditions actually say, what the withdrawal page commits to — and only then look at the experience of using the site. Marketing language carries no weight in our scoring, because a headline bonus figure tells you nothing about whether the money can realistically be withdrawn.
Every operator is measured against the same eight areas. Where we cannot verify something, we say so rather than filling the gap with an assumption. Our full process, including how disagreements between reviewers are resolved, is set out in our review methodology and editorial policy.
Licensing and ownership
Whether the operator holds a current UK Gambling Commission licence, which company holds it, and whether the group has recent enforcement action on the public register.
Withdrawal behaviour
Published payout windows, whether a pending period applies, whether winnings can be reversed back into the balance, and when identity checks are triggered.
Bonus terms, not bonus size
Wagering multiple, what the multiple applies to, game weighting, maximum bet while wagering, expiry windows and any cap on converted winnings.
Payments and limits
Supported deposit and withdrawal methods for UK accounts, minimum withdrawal amounts, weekly or monthly caps and whether fees are charged.
Games and suppliers
Range and quality of slots, live dealer tables and table games, which studios are represented, and whether return-to-player figures are published per title.
Mobile and usability
How the site behaves in a mobile browser, how easily limits and account history can be found, and whether the cashier is clear about pending balances.
Support and complaints
Live chat and email availability, realistic response times, and which approved alternative dispute resolution body handles unresolved complaints.
Safer gambling tooling
Deposit, loss and time limits, reality checks, cooling-off periods, account closure and clearly signposted links to GAMSTOP, GamCare and BeGambleAware.
Scores are only published once an operator has been through all eight areas. A site that performs well on games but cannot demonstrate a clear withdrawal process will not be presented as a strong all-round choice, because for most players the payout experience is what determines whether an account was worth opening.
UK licensing: what protection actually means
Online gambling in Great Britain is regulated by the UK Gambling Commission under the Gambling Act 2005. Any operator advertising to or accepting money from British players must hold a UKGC remote licence, regardless of where the company itself is based. That licence is not a badge of quality, but it does impose a specific set of obligations that unlicensed sites have no reason to follow.
A licensed operator has to verify your age and identity before you can deposit, display the terms attached to any promotion clearly and fairly, and follow the Commission's advertising rules. It must offer deposit limits, time-outs and account closure, monitor accounts for signs of harm and intervene where play looks problematic. It must be connected to GAMSTOP, so a single registration blocks access across every licensed site. It must also state how customer funds are held and what level of protection applies if the business fails — a disclosure that ranges from "not protected" through to funds held in an independently controlled account.
Complaints are handled in stages. You raise the issue with the operator first, and if it is not resolved within eight weeks you can escalate free of charge to the alternative dispute resolution provider named in the operator's terms. The Commission itself does not adjudicate individual disputes, but it does use complaints as intelligence and can act against a licensee's permission to trade.
You can check any operator yourself on the Commission's public register: search the company name shown in the site footer and confirm the licence status, the account number and the trading names attached to it. If the name in the footer does not appear, or the licence has lapsed, that is a reason to stop. Our guide to UK gambling licensing walks through the register and what each field means.
Casino bonuses explained
Bonuses are the most heavily marketed and least well understood part of the UK casino market. The headline number — a matched percentage, a quantity of free spins, a cash amount — is the part designed to be memorable, and it is almost never the part that determines value. The terms underneath it are.
The single most important term is the wagering requirement: the multiple of the bonus you must stake before anything can be withdrawn. Read it carefully, because some offers apply the multiple to the bonus alone and others apply it to deposit plus bonus, which doubles the work. Game weighting then changes the real cost again. Slots typically contribute their full stake towards the requirement, while roulette, blackjack and live dealer tables often contribute a small fraction or nothing at all, so playing your usual games can leave the balance barely moving.
Three further terms decide whether an offer is workable. A maximum bet rule caps the stake you may place while a bonus is active, and breaching it — often accidentally, with a single spin — can void the whole balance. An expiry window sets how long you have to complete the wagering, which matters far more than the size of the offer if you only play occasionally. A winnings cap limits how much of the bonus play can be converted to withdrawable cash, regardless of how well the session goes.
Reload offers, free spins and cashback follow the same logic with different packaging. Free spins usually carry their own wagering on the winnings and a fixed spin value. Cashback is sometimes paid as real money with no strings and sometimes as a bonus with full wagering attached, and those are entirely different products sold under the same word. We cover the arithmetic in detail in our guides to wagering requirements and reload bonuses.
A final point that is easy to miss: you are never obliged to take a bonus. Declining the welcome offer keeps your deposit as ordinary cash with no play-through, no maximum bet rule and no expiry. For players who deposit modest amounts and want the option to withdraw at any time, that is frequently the better choice.
Withdrawals and how payouts really work
"Instant withdrawals" is a marketing phrase, not a description of a banking process. A payout passes through three distinct stages, and the advertised figure usually refers to only one of them.
Operator approval
Some sites approve automatically within minutes; others hold requests in a pending queue for up to 48 hours, during which the money can often be reversed back into your balance.
Verification checks
Identity, address and sometimes source-of-funds documents are reviewed. This is the usual cause of a slow first withdrawal and is a legal requirement, not obstruction.
Payment rail
Only once approved does the chosen method matter. E-wallets are typically quickest, cards take a few working days, and bank transfers follow clearing windows.
The reversal window deserves particular attention. Where a pending period exists and the cashier allows a request to be cancelled, it is very easy to return winnings to the balance and play them back. Operators that either remove reversals or make them deliberately awkward tend to produce a better experience, and it is one of the details we record when assessing payout quality.
Two practical habits remove most friction. Complete verification when you open the account rather than waiting until you want the money, and withdraw to the method you deposited with wherever possible, since anti-money-laundering rules generally require funds to return along the route they arrived. Our guide to UK withdrawal times goes through each stage in more depth.
Popular UK payment methods
The UK payments landscape is narrower than in most markets, mainly because credit cards were banned for online gambling in April 2020. That ban covers indirect routes as well, so an e-wallet funded by a credit card cannot be used to deposit either. What remains is a small set of well-established methods, each with different behaviour on the way out as well as the way in.
Debit cards
The default at almost every UK casino. Deposits are instant, withdrawals usually return to the same card and typically settle within a few working days.
PayPal
Widely offered and often among the quickest to receive funds once approved. Some operators accept it for deposits but not withdrawals, so check the cashier before depositing.
Apple Pay and Google Pay
Convenient deposit routes that sit on top of an underlying debit card. They are rarely available as a withdrawal method, so payouts return to the card or bank instead.
Pay by Bank and open banking
Payment is authorised inside your banking app, with no card details shared. Increasingly common in the UK and useful for keeping gambling spend visible on your statement.
Bank transfer
Reliable for larger withdrawals but slower, because the payout is subject to your bank's clearing windows as well as the operator's approval time.
Prepaid options
Prepaid vouchers can help cap spending on deposits, but they generally cannot receive withdrawals, so a second method is needed for payouts.
Availability differs by operator and can change without much notice, so always confirm in the cashier before depositing that your preferred method also supports withdrawals. Minimum withdrawal amounts and any weekly or monthly caps are worth checking at the same time; they are published in the terms rather than on the promotions page, and they affect larger balances considerably. Method-by-method detail is in our UK casino payment methods guide.

How to choose a UK casino
Until our own rankings are published, the most useful thing we can offer is the checklist we use ourselves. Working through it takes about ten minutes and filters out the great majority of problems people report after the fact.
- 1
Confirm the licence yourself
Take the company name from the footer and look it up on the UK Gambling Commission's public register. It takes under a minute and tells you who you are actually dealing with.
- 2
Read the bonus terms before the headline
Work out the wagering multiple, what it applies to, the expiry window and the maximum bet allowed while wagering. A smaller offer on fair terms is usually worth more.
- 3
Check the withdrawal page, not the promotions page
Minimum withdrawal, monthly caps, pending periods and reversal windows are the things that decide how a payout feels in practice.
- 4
Verify your account early
Uploading identity and address documents at sign-up rather than at first withdrawal removes the single most common cause of delayed payouts.
- 5
Set your limits on day one
Deposit and loss limits are easiest to set before you play. Reductions usually apply immediately, while increases are subject to a cooling-off period.
Beyond the checklist, be honest about how you intend to play. If you expect to withdraw often in small amounts, minimum withdrawal thresholds and pending periods matter more than anything else. If you play live tables, check contribution rules before accepting any bonus. If you play rarely, an offer with a seven-day expiry is of no use to you no matter how large it looks.
Responsible gambling
Gambling is entertainment with a cost attached. Over any meaningful period the house edge means the expected outcome is a loss, so the only sustainable approach is to stake money you are prepared to lose and to stop when it stops being enjoyable. Chasing losses, borrowing to play, or gambling to escape stress are the recognised warning signs, and they rarely appear one at a time.
Every UKGC-licensed site must give you tools to stay in control: deposit, loss and session limits, reality-check reminders, short-term time-outs and permanent account closure. Limits can normally be tightened immediately, while loosening them is subject to a cooling-off period by design. GAMSTOP extends this across the whole licensed market in one step, blocking access to every licensed British site and app for six months, one year or five years.
